Costs

Tuition is FREE at the University of Bonn as of summer semester 2011.

An amount of ca. 330 Euro per semester, however, will be charged as a "social fee" (Sozialbeitrag), which inter alia provides the student with semester pass valid for unlimited travel on all regional public transportation within North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW-Ticket).

Cost of Living:
A monthly budget of around 800-950 Euro is recommended to cover the expenses of accommodation, groceries, health insurance, books, etc. Accommodation in a residence hall costs between 250 - 450 Euro per month. For further information on accommodation in Bonn, click here.
